Every day, from the very first day of grade 1, we have been learning about a letter of the alphabet. We learn how to print each letter, we brainstorm words that begin with that letter, we listen and print where we hear the letter in a word (at the beginning or at the end), we learn how to stretch the sounds in words (c-a-t, f-a-s-t), and learn how to check our printing/spelling to see if it looks right, sounds right, and makes sense. We can't wait to be expert readers, writers, and spellers!
