Dominos, Basic Facts and More!

We were growing our math minds in many different ways today!  Dominos are the perfect tool to build and practice addition, subitizing dot patterns, pattern identification, counting on, counting back and much more! It was silent in the room...the kids dove right into domino math. They are very excited to play these games again during math stations.

Ted Harrison Arctic Landscapes

Ted Harrison is one of Canada's most popular artists.  We looked at some of Ted Harrison's work, and we created our own artic landscapes. We used black paper, glue and chalk pastels. We learned that the horizon line is where the land meets the sky.  We also talked about warm colours and cold colours. Our masterpieces are complete - please come and see them on the wall outside our classroom!

Kindness week

Here we are at our assembly to kick off our kindness challenge week!  We have as a class about 10 acts of kindness we are trying to complete each day. To help us meet our goals, each day has a theme!  Today is PJ day!

We also had a special presentation from the Manitoba Wheel Chair Associstion!  We learned about some of the athletes who participate in wheel chair sports here in Manitoba and globally. We are very lucky because MWCA left us 6 wheel chairs to use in our gym classes this week!  We can't wait to try them out!
